Description
Edit Freddo Espresso is a foam-coved iced coffee made from the iced espresso. It is found in every café and coffee shop in Greece. It is undoubtedly popular among the young people during the summer, or the hot days. Because of the very hot summer in Greece, and the need to escape from the Frappé, people headed to make the other coffees into cold ones. It consists of two shots of espresso (30-50 ml), sugar, and ice (60- 100 ml) 1:2 ( espresso shots:ice). The espresso is made in a usually reusable metallic glass, after the amount of sugar is added. Next move is right after the brewing to insert the glass into the frapièra (It is a device with an electric motor that turns a metallic stick with a disk as a head at the point). The head of frapiera mixes the coffee with the sugar, produce the foam from the oils of espresso, and lowers the temperature. The coffee is ready and is poured to the glass (if it’s take-away, it is plastic) which already contains the desired amount of ice cubes. The cubes melt and the coffee reaches the right bitterness and strength in the first 10 minutes, because later the ice is already melted to water and the strength is lower, with more watery feeling.
